Telescoping Glass - Retractable Speed Gate
Product Description
The Telescoping Glass Retractable Optical Speed Gate is a high-security pedestrian access-control system designed for modern commercial, corporate, financial, government and institutional entrances. Its linear sliding glass barriers provide fast, controlled passage while the angled cabinet design and integrated LED lighting help guide users through the lane.
A unique telescoping barrier mechanism allows the same narrow cabinet design to accommodate both standard and wide passage configurations. This reduces the overall footprint required for wide lanes while maintaining a consistent appearance across multiple lanes.
Sliding Glass Barrier
The motorized barrier operates with a linear sliding motion driven by a brushless DC motor, providing quiet and precise operation. The system is available with different glass heights, including a low 35.43-inch configuration and taller panels up to 70.86 inches for applications requiring increased physical separation.
Standard and Wide Passage Options
The gate is available with either a 21.65-inch standard passage or a 35.43-inch wide passage. The telescoping mechanism allows the wide configuration to maintain the same cabinet width as the standard configuration, helping maximize usable floor space and maintain a uniform architectural appearance.
LED User Guidance
Integrated LED lighting provides visual guidance throughout the entry process. The lighting can indicate lane availability, credential status and when the user is authorized to proceed.
An optional dynamic user-interaction package adds additional visual and audio guidance. Sensors detect an approaching user and the lighting directs attention toward the authorization area before guiding the user through the passage.
Advanced Security Detection
Multiple point-to-point sensors monitor the lane and analyze passenger position and movement to identify unauthorized passage attempts. The system provides tailgating and wrong-way detection, while optional anti-climb detection can identify attempts to climb onto or over the equipment.
The detection system is designed to distinguish people from other objects, helping reduce false alarms while maintaining controlled pedestrian access.
Access Control Integration
The system is designed to work with a wide range of reader technologies, including card, QR code and barcode readers, subject to the physical size of the reader. The access-control interface can be integrated into a larger building security system.
Bi-directional operation allows the same lane to control both entry and exit.
Architectural Finishes
The cabinet combines powder-coated steel with anodized aluminum inlays, while the moving barriers use 10 mm toughened safety glass.
Standard finish options include black and stainless-steel appearances, with additional powder-coated RAL colors and optional materials such as Corian, laminate and wood finishes available for architectural coordination.
Installation, Drilling and Trenching
The equipment is delivered fully assembled and requires a flat, level finished floor. The installation area should be coordinated with architectural, electrical and access-control drawings before construction.
For new construction, power and low-voltage access-control/data conduits should be routed to the equipment locations before the finished floor is installed. The installation documentation specifies that conduits running below the equipment should be located a minimum of 5½ inches below finished floor level, with metal cable conduit rising at least 2 inches above the foundation.
For retrofit installations, drilling and any required trenching should be coordinated with existing utilities and structural reinforcement before anchoring the equipment.
The installation requires a minimum 70 mm bolting depth and concrete with a minimum specified compressive strength of 30 N/mm². The structural integrity of the installation location must be verified before installation.
Where a project requires a floor-protection or baseplate mounting solution, the appropriate configuration should be confirmed from the installation drawings for the selected equipment.
