Slim Optical Swing Speed Gate - 71" Height
Product Description
The Slim Optical Swing Speed Gate combines controlled pedestrian access with a very narrow cabinet footprint and a clean architectural appearance. Its slim 3.9-inch-wide cabinet and approximately 62.2-inch cabinet length make it well suited to corporate lobbies, office buildings, government facilities, schools and other entrances where space and appearance are important.
The gate uses motorized swinging glass barriers that open automatically after authorized access and close after passage. A single-wing or bi-wing configuration can be selected, allowing the system to be adapted to different lane requirements. The standard barrier is approximately 39 inches high, with taller panels available up to approximately 71 inches when additional physical separation is desired.
The 71-inch clear barrier configuration provides substantially more vertical separation than a standard optical gate while maintaining visibility through the entrance. This option is appropriate for applications where a taller pedestrian barrier is desired to discourage climbing or bypass without using an opaque full-height enclosure. The manufacturer identifies barrier wings up to 1,800 mm (70.87 inches) for this product family.
The 71-inch panels are constructed from 10 mm (0.39-inch) tempered glass, while standard side infill panels use 6 mm (0.24-inch) tempered glass.
Pedestrian Security and Detection
The gate uses 24 pairs of infrared sensors to monitor pedestrian movement through the lane. The sensor array is designed to detect tailgating and crossover attempts while also recognizing people carrying luggage and users in wheelchairs or with strollers.
The system provides multiple security and safety levels, allowing the operating behavior to be matched to the facility. The manufacturer identifies a 5,000,000 MCBF drive rating and fail-safe operation for the standard system.
Access Control
The gate can integrate with building access-control systems through relay inputs and outputs, with additional communication options including RS485, USB and Ethernet. Optional flush-mounted RFID reader brackets, barcode-reader integration and card-collection equipment are available for appropriate applications.
Additional options include remote control, supervisory software, passage scheduling, audio messages, lane lighting and illuminated access guidance.
Emergency Operation
The gate is designed to support emergency egress. The manufacturer specifies an emergency mode in which the barrier automatically opens in the exit direction. An optional SuperCap emergency power system is available for continued operation during a power interruption.
Architectural Installation
Because of the narrow cabinet, installation should be coordinated carefully with the architectural floor plan, lane widths and adjacent finishes before the equipment is ordered.
For new construction, identify the exact cabinet positions and passage dimensions before the finished floor is installed. For retrofit projects, verify the floor condition and any concealed utilities before drilling.
Depending on the selected mounting arrangement, installation may use a mounting console, direct floor anchoring or an optional ramp/platform accessory. The manufacturer specifically lists a mounting console and ramp option for this product family.
Electrical and communications requirements should be coordinated with the access-control and building electrical drawings before installation. Where conduit, trenching or floor penetration is required, those routes should be established before the floor is completed.
Materials and Appearance
The standard construction uses a black RAL-finished frame, brushed stainless-steel covers, black glass top lid, 10 mm tempered-glass barrier wings and 6 mm tempered-glass side panels. Alternative finishes and customized lighting can be specified for architectural coordination.
