Full Height 28" Turnstile – Aluminum

The full height aluminum turnstile combines controlled pedestrian access with a modern, open architectural appearance. Its aluminum and polycarbonate construction provides the security function of a traditional full height turnstile while creating a less imposing appearance for commercial, institutional and other visible entrances.

The single turnstile provides approximately a 28" pedestrian clearance, with an 84" interior passage height and 91" overall height. The unit is approximately 66.25" wide.

Aluminum and Polycarbonate Construction

The combination of aluminum framing and polycarbonate components provides a lighter visual appearance than conventional steel full height turnstiles. This makes the design particularly appropriate where pedestrian security is required without creating a heavy industrial appearance.

The rotor uses automatic indexing and self-centering to return the turnstile to its proper position following passage.

Manual or Electronic Operation

The turnstile can be configured for manual or electronically controlled operation. Manual configurations provide controlled pedestrian passage without electronic authorization, while electronic configurations allow access to be released through the facility's access-control system.

Access Control Ready:
Compatible with any and all access control systems where a low-voltage or dry-contact signal is presented by the control panel to release the turnstile for passage. This allows the electronic turnstile to integrate with card readers, RFID readers, biometric readers, keypads, intercoms and other credential or authorization systems capable of providing the appropriate relay signal.

Access can be configured independently by direction, allowing electronic control in one or both directions, electronic entry with free exit, or electronic entry with the opposite direction locked. Electronic configurations can also be specified for fail-secure or fail-safe operation, with key override available for authorized manual release.

Indoor or Outdoor

The full height aluminum turnstile can be specified for indoor or outdoor applications, depending on the environmental requirements of the installation.

For outdoor applications, appropriate weather and cold-weather options should be specified. A thermostat-controlled heater and insulated mainframe are available for installations exposed to cold temperatures.

Finish and Color Options

The aluminum construction is available in clear anodized or dark bronze finishes, providing two architectural appearance options without the heavier appearance of conventional painted steel construction.

The finish can be selected to coordinate with the surrounding building, fencing, gates and other entrance components.

Installation

The turnstile is surface mounted and anchored to a prepared concrete foundation. Installation should be coordinated with the architectural, structural and electrical plans.

For existing concrete installations, typical preparation includes:

• Positioning and leveling the turnstile
• Layout of anchor locations
• Drilling the concrete
• Installing appropriate anchors
• Routing electrical and access-control wiring

For new construction, the foundation, anchor locations and conduit can be coordinated before the concrete is installed.

Where electrical or communications wiring approaches the turnstile from below grade, trenching and conduit should be planned as part of the site installation.

The installation should also provide adequate overhead clearance for access to the control mechanism.

Companion ADA Gate

All turnstiles can be ordered with a companion ADA gate with a 36" or 48" free passageway. This provides an accessible passage adjacent to the controlled turnstile entrance.

Canopy Options

Canopies can provide an anti-climb-over feature while adding overhead protection to the entrance. A half canopy can be ordered when coverage is required on the entry side only.
