Portable Full Height Turnstile

The portable full height turnstile provides floor-to-ceiling pedestrian security where a permanent concrete-mounted turnstile is impractical or where the security entrance may need to be relocated. Mounted on a heavy-duty portable base, the unit can be moved with a forklift or pallet jack, making it particularly well suited for construction sites, temporary facilities, changing job-site layouts, events and other applications requiring flexible perimeter access control.

The turnstile provides a 31-inch clear passageway and can be installed as a single unit or positioned with additional units to create a continuous security barrier. Its full-height design helps prevent unauthorized passage by going over, under or around the pedestrian control point.

Manual or Electronic Operation

The portable full height turnstile is available in manual or electronically controlled configurations. The electronic version allows pedestrian passage to be authorized through the facility's access-control system while retaining the flexibility and portability of the turnstile assembly.

Access Control Ready:
Compatible with any and all access control systems where a low-voltage or dry-contact signal is presented by the control panel to release the turnstile for passage. The electronic locking system uses 24 VDC solenoids and accepts a momentary dry-contact signal, allowing it to interface with virtually any access-control system capable of providing the appropriate relay output.

The turnstile can integrate with card readers, RFID readers, biometric readers, keypads and other credentialing systems. Electronic configurations can be arranged for card-in/card-out, card-in/free-exit or controlled-exit applications, with fail-safe or fail-secure operation available according to the security and emergency-release requirements of the installation.

Heavy-Duty Construction

The turnstile is designed for high-security and hard-use pedestrian applications. Its exterior components are fully welded, while the operating mechanism incorporates permanently lubricated bearings and a self-centering mechanism with hydraulic shock suppression for controlled rotation and return to the home position.

The standard construction uses approximately 1.5-inch diameter tubing, with an overall footprint of approximately 89" high × 62.5" wide × 56" deep for the portable configuration.

The portable base eliminates the need to permanently bolt the turnstile to a concrete pad, allowing the entire assembly to be repositioned as site requirements change.

Portable Installation

The portable design is intended for installation on level, sturdy ground. The unit can be positioned with a forklift or pallet jack without requiring a permanent below-grade foundation.

This makes it particularly useful when:

• A permanent concrete pad is not practical
• The entrance location may change
• A construction site changes as work progresses
• Temporary access control is required
• Multiple turnstiles need to be rearranged
• A permanent installation is not desired

For permanent installations, full-height turnstiles are also available in floor-mounted configurations.

Electrical installations should be coordinated with the access-control system, power supply and site wiring requirements. Where underground electrical or communications wiring is required, trenching and conduit should be planned before the equipment is positioned.

Powder coating provides the opportunity to coordinate the turnstile with fencing, gates and surrounding architectural elements. Custom colors are available, making the turnstile suitable for projects where appearance is an important consideration.
