Tandem 30" Free Passage – Most Popular

This tandem full height turnstile with dual 30" passageways provides two independently controlled pedestrian lanes within a single integrated frame. The double-lane design increases pedestrian throughput while requiring less overall installation width than two separately installed full height turnstiles, making it an excellent choice for high-traffic secured entrances.

The 30" clear passageway in each lane provides comfortable pedestrian clearance for general employee and visitor traffic while maintaining the controlled one-person passage associated with full height security turnstiles. This configuration is well suited for corporate campuses, data centers, industrial facilities, distribution centers, transportation facilities, stadiums, government facilities and secured perimeter entrances.

Each lane incorporates an independent self-centering rotor and control mechanism, allowing the two passageways to be configured according to the project's traffic and security requirements. The turnstile can operate as a stand-alone entrance or as part of an integrated access-control system.

Dual 30" Passageways

The tandem configuration combines two 30" clear pedestrian passageways into one common structural frame. Each passageway has approximately 84" of clear height.

Overall dimensions are approximately 102"W × 62"D × 91"H, allowing architects to plan the complete double-lane entrance as a single assembly.

Mechanical or Electric Operation

The tandem turnstile can be configured for manual or electronically controlled operation. Available operating configurations include free passage in both directions, free passage in one direction with the opposite direction locked, electronically controlled passage in one or both directions, and combinations of controlled, free and locked operation.

Electronic configurations can also be set for fail-safe or fail-secure operation based on project requirements. A key-override option is available for applications requiring authorized manual release.

Access Control Ready

Access Control Ready: Electric tandem turnstiles are compatible with any and all access control systems where a low-voltage or dry-contact signal is presented by the control panel to release the turnstile for passage.

The two lanes can be integrated with card readers, proximity credentials, biometric readers and other access-control equipment. Each passageway can be controlled independently, allowing the entrance and exit operation to be configured for the facility's specific traffic requirements. The current product documentation specifically supports card-reader and biometric integration.

Indoor / Outdoor

The tandem full height turnstile is designed for indoor or outdoor applications, including interior security entrances and exterior perimeter-control locations. A cold-weather package with a thermostat-controlled heater and insulated mainframe is available for installations exposed to low temperatures.

Finish and Color Options

Available finishes include galvanized steel, powder-coated steel and stainless steel. Powder-coated finishes are offered in several standard architectural colors, with additional colors available upon request. Powder coating over galvanized construction is also available where additional corrosion protection and an architectural color finish are desired.

Installation

The tandem turnstile is designed for permanent installation on an appropriate level structural mounting surface. Installation requires coordination of the approximately 102" × 62" footprint, anchor locations and required clearances.

For electric configurations, electrical power and access-control wiring should be coordinated before installation. New construction can accommodate concealed conduit before the concrete or finished mounting surface is completed, while existing locations may require drilling, trenching, core drilling or other approved conduit-routing methods.

Final anchor locations, drilling patterns and conduit locations should be coordinated from approved project drawings before drilling or concrete work. Current technical documentation includes dedicated assembly drawings as well as anchor and conduit drawings for this 30" tandem configuration.

ADA Companion Gate

All tandem turnstiles can be ordered with a companion ADA gate with a 36" or 48" free passageway. This provides an accessible controlled route adjacent to the tandem pedestrian lanes and can be coordinated with the turnstile installation. The current product family supports matching 36" and 48" ADA gates.

Canopy Options

Canopies can provide an anti-climb-over feature for higher-security perimeter applications and can be ordered as a half canopy for the entry side only.

Available Options

Options include bi-directional key overrides, daylight-visible indicator lights, digital passage counters, card-reader mounting enclosures, lockout bars, push-button and wireless controls, heel-guard arm covers, cold-weather packages and overhead canopies.
