Full Height 30" Passage Security Turnstile

The 30" passage full height turnstile provides controlled pedestrian access while creating a substantial floor-to-ceiling physical barrier between secured and unsecured areas. The 30" clear passage provides comfortable pedestrian access while maintaining the security advantages of a full height turnstile.

This turnstile is suitable for commercial, industrial, institutional and high-security applications, including manufacturing facilities, warehouses, utilities, schools, stadiums and other controlled-access locations. It can operate as a stand-alone pedestrian barrier or integrate with an electronic access-control system.

High-Security Construction

The turnstile is constructed with 1.5" diameter tubular steel and incorporates an automatic-indexing, self-centering rotor. After each passage, the rotor returns to its proper resting position, maintaining an orderly and controlled pedestrian entry point.

The 30" passage configuration measures approximately 66" wide × 59.25" deep, with an 84" clear passage height and 91" overall height. A minimum of approximately 4" clearance above the cover should be maintained to permit cover removal and access to the internal control mechanism.

Manual or Electronic Operation

The turnstile can be configured for manual or electronic operation. Manual configurations provide controlled mechanical pedestrian passage without requiring electronic authorization, while electronic configurations allow the turnstile to be released through the facility's access-control system.

Access Control Ready
Compatible with any and all access control systems where a low-voltage or dry-contact signal is presented by the control panel to release the turnstile for passage. This allows electronic configurations to integrate with card readers, RFID readers, biometric systems, keypads, intercoms and other credential or authorization systems capable of providing the appropriate relay signal.

Operating configurations can include controlled entry in one or both directions, free passage in one direction with controlled passage in the other, or locked passage in a selected direction. Electronic configurations can also be specified for fail-secure or fail-safe operation, with key override available for authorized personnel.

Indoor or Outdoor

The 30" full height turnstile is suitable for indoor or outdoor installation when properly specified for the environmental conditions. Galvanized steel and powder-coated finishes are available, with powder coating over galvanized steel providing additional protection for demanding exterior installations.

For installations exposed to low temperatures, a cold-weather package with a thermostat-controlled heater and insulated mainframe is available to help maintain reliable operation.

Powder-Coated Color Options

Powder coating allows the turnstile to coordinate with surrounding fencing, gates and building architecture. Standard colors include black, white, oyster white, gray aluminum, blue, green and terra brown, with additional colors available upon request.

Custom RAL colors can also be specified when the turnstile needs to coordinate with a particular architectural finish or project color requirement.

Installation

The turnstile is surface mounted to a prepared concrete foundation. Proper installation requires accurate positioning, leveling and anchoring, along with coordination of electrical and access-control wiring.

For existing concrete, installation typically involves:

• Positioning and leveling the turnstile
• Marking anchor locations
• Drilling the concrete
• Installing appropriate anchors
• Connecting electrical and access-control wiring

For new construction, the concrete foundation, anchor locations and conduit can be coordinated with the architectural and electrical drawings.

Where power, data or communications wiring approaches from below grade, trenching and conduit should be planned as part of the site installation.

Companion ADA Gate

All turnstiles can be ordered with a companion ADA gate with a 36" or 48" free passageway. This provides an accessible passage adjacent to the controlled turnstile entrance where an accessible route is required.

Canopy Options

Canopies can provide an anti-climb-over feature while adding overhead protection to the turnstile and passage area. A half canopy can be ordered when coverage is required on the entry side only.

Additional options include visible indicator lights, digital passage counters, card-reader mounting enclosures, lockout bars, heel guards, push-button or wireless controls, and cold-weather equipment.
