Tandem Full Height – Powder Coated

This tandem full height security turnstile combines two controlled pedestrian passageways within a single integrated frame, providing increased pedestrian capacity while requiring less overall width than two separately installed full height turnstiles. The double-lane configuration is well suited for secured campuses, industrial facilities, employee entrances, distribution centers, transportation facilities, stadiums and perimeter security applications where controlled entry and exit are required.

Each passageway incorporates its own self-centering rotor and control mechanism, allowing the two lanes to operate independently. Tandem turnstiles are available in mechanical or electrically controlled configurations and can be configured for one-way or bi-directional pedestrian traffic. Electronic configurations can be integrated with card readers, biometric systems and other credential-based access-control equipment.

Two-Lane Full Height Security

The tandem configuration essentially places two full height turnstiles into one common structural frame. This provides two individually controlled pedestrian lanes while reducing the total installation width compared with installing two separate turnstile assemblies.

Two sizes are available:

• 27" Passage Model: Approximately 94.25"W × 59.38"D × 91"H, with two 27" clear passageways.
• 30" Passage Model: Approximately 102"W × 62"D × 91"H, with two 30" clear passageways.

Both configurations provide approximately 84" of clear passage height.

Mechanical or Electric Operation

Mechanical configurations can provide free passage, controlled directional passage or locked passage depending on the selected setup.

Electric configurations allow each lane to be controlled electronically and can be configured for controlled entry, controlled exit, free passage or locked passage. Electronic control can also be configured for fail-safe or fail-secure operation depending on the project requirements.

Access Control Ready

Access Control Ready: Electric tandem turnstiles are compatible with access-control systems where a low-voltage or dry-contact signal is presented by the control panel to release the turnstile for passage.

This allows integration with card readers, proximity credentials, biometric readers, intercom systems, remote controls and other building or perimeter access-control equipment. Each passageway can be controlled independently to support the required entry and exit sequence.

Indoor / Outdoor Applications

Tandem full height turnstiles are suitable for indoor or outdoor installations. Common applications include fence-line entrances, employee access points, industrial facilities, secured campuses and interior security checkpoints.

For outdoor and cold-weather installations, project-specific environmental conditions should be considered. A cold-weather package with a thermostat-controlled heater and insulated mainframe is available where required.

Finish and Color Options

Finish options include galvanized steel, stainless steel and powder-coated finishes. Powder coating is available in a selection of standard colors, including black, white, gray, blue, green and brown, with additional colors available upon request.

Powder-coated finishes can be selected to coordinate the turnstile with perimeter fencing, building architecture, corporate colors or other entrance equipment. Powder coating over galvanized construction is also available where additional corrosion protection and an architectural color finish are desired.

Installation

Tandem turnstiles are designed for permanent installation to an appropriate level structural mounting surface. Installation requires coordination of the turnstile footprint, anchor locations and, for electrically controlled models, power and access-control conduit locations.

Concrete preparation, drilling, anchoring and electrical/low-voltage conduit should be coordinated from the approved project drawings before installation. Electrical conduit can typically be planned below the mounting surface for new construction; existing sites may require trenching, core drilling or other approved conduit-routing methods.

Because the two passageways are incorporated into a common assembly, architects and contractors should verify the overall width, depth, passage clearance, overhead clearance and adjacent fence or wall conditions during entrance planning.

ADA Companion Gate

All tandem turnstiles can be ordered with a companion full height ADA gate with a 36" or 48" free passageway. The ADA gate can be coordinated with the turnstile installation to provide an accessible route alongside the controlled pedestrian lanes. Matching gates are available in multiple configurations.

Canopy Options

An overhead canopy can provide additional protection above the controlled passageway and an anti-climb-over feature for higher-security perimeter installations.

Canopies can also be ordered as a half canopy for the entry side only, depending on the required entrance configuration.

Available Options

Options can include bi-directional key overrides, daylight-visible indicator lights, digital passage counters, card-reader mounting enclosures, lockout bars, push-button or wireless remote controls, heel-guard arm covers, cold-weather packages and full or half canopies.
