Optical Turnstiles - Tall Panels - Quick Ship
Product Description
The Optical Turnstile with Tall Panels is a fast, contact-free pedestrian access-control system designed to provide secure passage while maintaining an open architectural appearance. It is suited to corporate offices, commercial buildings, public facilities, cultural institutions, universities and other entrances where controlled pedestrian flow, appearance and reliable operation are important.
Clear bi-parting barrier panels move automatically to open the lane and return to the closed position after authorized passage. Photoelectric sensors monitor the passage area to detect people and objects and can identify unauthorized use. The system supports high visitor throughput and can also operate in an open-gate mode when increased pedestrian flow is required.
The barrier height can be selected to match the required security level. Standard barrier elements are approximately 35 inches high, while high elements reach approximately 71 inches, providing increased separation and helping deter climbing. A wide-lane configuration of approximately 36 inches is available for wheelchair users, groups and movement of materials, while the standard passage is approximately 23 inches.
The system is designed for long-term, high-frequency operation with a stated life of approximately 10 million opening and closing cycles and a 100% duty cycle. Opening and closing times are approximately 0.6–1 second, depending on barrier-element dimensions.
Access control can be integrated with the turnstile, while additional functions and accessories can be used to tailor the system to the building. Available features include passage-direction indication, floor illumination, frame-edge illumination, forced-entry warning, electronic interlocking and Ethernet connectivity.
Architectural Installation
Installation should be coordinated with the architectural, electrical and access-control plans before the floor is completed. The system can be installed directly on a finished floor using appropriate mounting hardware, while new construction can use an adjustable foundation/base frame integrated below the finished floor. Manufacturer documentation also identifies adhesive fixing, paving-stone installation and platform mounting as possible installation approaches.
For projects involving new concrete construction, the final lane locations, floor elevations, mounting points and any required conduit routes should be established before the concrete or finished flooring is installed. For existing floors, drilling locations should be checked for concealed utilities, reinforcement, radiant heating and other obstructions before anchoring.
Where trenching or floor penetration is required for power, access-control or communications wiring, coordinate those routes before installation. The exact mounting and wiring requirements are configuration-specific and should be taken from the selected system's current installation documentation.
Single and Multi-Lane Configurations
The system can be installed as a single controlled lane or combined into multiple lanes for higher pedestrian throughput. A wide lane can be incorporated for wheelchair users, groups or movement of carts and materials. The modular design allows the entrance layout to be configured around the building's circulation requirements.
Security and Safety
The optical sensing system provides non-contact detection of people and objects within the passageway. The system can raise an alarm for unauthorized use, while optional interlocking can discourage unauthorized entry through adjacent lanes. High barrier elements can provide additional separation between controlled and uncontrolled areas.
The system is also identified with escape-route approval, and the manufacturer provides options and configurations intended for monitored and unmonitored areas.
