This dual-height vehicle access terminal provides a durable, freestanding enclosure for integrating access-control and communication equipment at vehicle entrances and exits. Its two equipment levels allow a single terminal to serve both passenger vehicles and larger trucks or semi-trucks, making it well suited for facilities where different vehicle types use the same controlled lane.

The terminal provides a universal platform for equipment such as intercoms, video cameras, card and proximity readers, keypads, ticketing equipment, biometric readers and other access-control devices. The two equipment areas allow devices to be positioned at appropriate operating heights for different vehicle classes.

Construction and Corrosion Protection

The enclosure combines powder-coated aluminum construction with a stainless-steel base, providing corrosion resistance suitable for long-term exterior use. The housing is designed as a freestanding control terminal for vehicle-access applications. The enclosure is rated IP54.

Service Access

The front equipment panel slides outward on telescopic rails, while the access door can be removed to provide convenient access to installed equipment. This arrangement simplifies wiring, commissioning, troubleshooting and future service without requiring the entire terminal to be removed.

Vehicle Access Applications

The dual-height configuration is particularly useful for entrances serving cars, trucks, delivery vehicles and semi-trucks. The lower equipment position can be used for passenger vehicles while the elevated position provides convenient access from a truck or commercial vehicle cab.

Installation and Site Preparation

Installation should be coordinated with the access-control equipment, power requirements, communications wiring and site conditions. Manufacturer planning documentation includes dedicated foundation plans for the terminal configurations, dimensional drawings and installation information to assist with project design and field installation.

Depending on the site and terminal configuration, installation can be planned around concrete foundations, drilled and anchored mounting, conduit trenching and underground electrical/control pathways. Base and anchor arrangements should be coordinated with the selected terminal and the actual site conditions rather than assuming one universal foundation dimension. Manufacturer documentation includes an anchor set for barrier/terminal applications, as well as mounting plates and installation kits for equipment inside the terminal.

For projects requiring internal electrical equipment, mounting-plate options are available for electrical accessories, including a mounting plate with a 230 V connection. Additional installation hardware may be required depending on the equipment being installed and the terminal configuration.

Equipment Integration

The terminal can be configured around the equipment requirements of the access lane. Front-panel processing and cutouts can accommodate customer-specified devices, while internal mounting provisions help organize electrical and access-control components. This makes the terminal suitable for projects ranging from simple vehicle identification and intercom systems to more complex entry and exit control stations.
