Bi-Parting Optical Turnstile - 46" Height
Product Description
The Bi-Parting Optical Turnstile - 46" Height combines controlled pedestrian access with clear 46-inch barriers for greater physical separation while maintaining visibility. Slim end cabinets 3.8 inches wide help minimize the system's overall footprint.
Two motorized clear panels retract for authorized passage and automatically close afterward. Closed-loop position control provides smooth, quiet operation, while consecutive credential processing helps maintain traffic flow during busy periods.
Available with 28-inch standard or 36-inch wide passages, the system can be configured as a single lane or expanded into a multi-lane entrance using center cabinets.
46-Inch Clear Barrier Panels
The 46-inch panels provide more physical separation than lower optical barriers without creating the enclosed appearance of a full-height gate. The clear design maintains sight lines, making it well suited for corporate lobbies, government facilities, universities and controlled employee entrances.

Access Control and Security
The turnstile integrates with external access-control systems to authorize passage in one or both directions. Optical sensors monitor pedestrian movement, while illuminated indicators and audible signals communicate lane and alarm conditions.
Controlled, free-passage, visitor and no-passage modes can be configured as required. Emergency inputs can open the barriers in the exit direction for life-safety operation.
Installation, Drilling, Trenching and Baseplate Options
Cabinets should be installed level and square on a suitable concrete floor to maintain proper sensor and barrier alignment. Direct mounting requires 5/8-inch anchor holes approximately 3 inches deep at the designated locations.
For retrofit installations, the slab should be checked for reinforcement, utilities and other concealed conditions before drilling or trenching.
Optional Baseplate / Floor-Saver Installation
An optional baseplate can reduce the need for drilling and trenching into an existing finished floor. It provides a mounting surface for the cabinets with concealed pathways for power, communication and access-control wiring. Baseplates can also be connected to support multi-lane installations.
Electrical and Data Conduit Planning
Power and low-voltage pathways should be coordinated before the finished floor is completed.
Primary Power: 3/4" conduit; 1/2" with external DC power option

Crossover Communication: 1" conduit
Conduit Access Area: Approximately 6.50" × 2.50"
Power and communication wiring should be routed in separate conduits, with stub-ups coordinated to the final cabinet locations.
Construction and Materials
The cabinet construction uses stainless steel with a satin finish. Optional finishes, illuminated side panels and custom panel etching can be used where the project requires architectural customization.
