High Security Barrier – 10 to 15 Foot Arm Options
Product Description
The High Security Barrier is an automatic vehicle-access barrier designed for entrances where controlled vehicle movement and enhanced pedestrian-perimeter protection are required. Available with arm lengths from approximately 10 to 15 feet, the system uses a taller barrier housing and a straight barrier arm that can accommodate an optional security skirt, helping reduce unauthorized pedestrian access beneath or over the barrier.
The barrier uses a high-torque drive system designed for frequent operation, with an opening time of approximately 4 seconds on the high-security configuration offered by Security Entrances. Its modular control unit provides programmable inputs and outputs and includes an integrated two-channel detector for vehicle detection and access-control integration. The housing uses extruded aluminum with a stainless-steel base frame and powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance.
Security Skirt Options
The barrier can be configured with different skirt levels depending on the required security application:
Standard Boom Skirt — extends downward from the barrier arm to help prevent people from crawling underneath the barrier.
Boom Skirt with 51-Inch Climb-Over Prevention — combines under-barrier protection with increased height to discourage climbing over the barrier.
Boom Skirt with 70-Inch Climb-Over Prevention — provides the greatest vertical protection for applications requiring enhanced prevention of both crawling underneath and climbing over the barrier.
Because skirt height and arm length have configuration limits, the correct combination should be selected according to the manufacturer's current compatibility requirements rather than assuming every skirt works with every arm length.
Typical Applications
This barrier is suited for:
- Government and military facilities
- Critical infrastructure
- Industrial properties
- Company and campus entrances
- Port and secured-area entrances
- High-security parking and vehicle access points
The system is particularly useful where vehicle access must be controlled while unauthorized pedestrian bypass is also a concern.
