Double Turnstile – Forklift Portable

The Double Turnstile – Forklift Portable provides two full-height controlled pedestrian lanes using portable turnstile modules linked together in a tandem configuration. This modular approach provides the capacity of a double turnstile while allowing individual units to be moved, separated, added or reconfigured as pedestrian traffic and site requirements change.

Each turnstile is mounted on a heavy-duty forklift-ready baseplate, eliminating the need for a permanent concrete foundation during normal portable deployment. Four-way forklift access allows individual units to be picked up and repositioned using a forklift or pallet jack.

This configuration is particularly useful for construction sites, temporary facilities, outdoor events, changing perimeter entrances and other applications where full-height pedestrian security is required without permanently locating the entrance.

Modular Double and Multi-Lane Configuration

Unlike a conventional tandem turnstile constructed as one permanent double assembly, this system uses individual portable full-height turnstiles that can be linked together.

Two units can be positioned side-by-side to create a double/tandem entrance, while additional units can be added to create three or more controlled pedestrian lanes when higher capacity is required. Units can also be removed or relocated as entrance requirements change. The portable platform is specifically designed to support tandem layouts and modular lane expansion.

This makes the system especially useful on large construction projects where the number of workers, temporary fencing and pedestrian entrance locations may change during different phases of the project.

Forklift-Portable Base

Each turnstile is mounted directly to a robust portable baseplate with four-way forklift access. The complete unit can be moved with a standard forklift or pallet jack without disassembling the turnstile.

Because the base provides the required portable mounting platform, a dedicated concrete pad and permanent ground anchoring are not normally required. Units can be positioned on an appropriate level, stable surface and relocated when the site layout changes.

Full Height Controlled Passage

Each portable module provides approximately a 31" clear pedestrian passageway and incorporates a self-centering mechanism with hydraulic shock suppression and permanently lubricated bearings for controlled operation in high-use environments.

Passage can be configured for clockwise, counterclockwise or bi-directional operation, allowing individual lanes within a multi-turnstile entrance to be arranged for entry, exit or two-way controlled access.

Access Control Ready

Access Control Ready: Electric configurations are compatible with access-control systems where a low-voltage or dry-contact signal is presented by the control panel to release the turnstile for passage.

Portable turnstiles can integrate with construction workforce management, time-and-attendance systems and existing access-control systems. Credential equipment can include card, code or biometric readers depending on the project.

Indoor / Outdoor

The portable full-height turnstile is suitable for indoor or outdoor applications.

Available finishes include hot-dip galvanized steel, powder-coated steel and powder coat over galvanized steel. Powder coating provides an architectural color option, while galvanized and powder-over-galvanized configurations are particularly appropriate for demanding outdoor environments.

Installation and Deployment

The portable design eliminates the need for conventional permanent turnstile foundations during normal deployment. Individual units can be delivered preassembled, positioned with a forklift and connected to the required power and access-control system.

When multiple units are used, the turnstiles can be linked side-by-side to form a tandem or larger multi-lane entrance. This provides architects and contractors with a scalable entrance that can expand, contract or relocate as site requirements change.

Where permanent electrical or data service is required, conduit, trenching and other electrical work should be coordinated with the project requirements.

ADA Companion Gate

All turnstiles can be ordered with a companion ADA gate with a 36" or 48" free passageway. The gate can be incorporated alongside the portable turnstile arrangement to provide a controlled wider passage.

Canopy Options

Canopies can provide an anti-climb-over feature and can be ordered as a half canopy for entry side only.
