Smart Display Access Gate - Tall Panel

The Smart Display Optical Swing Speed Gate with Tall Panels is a compact pedestrian access-control system designed for secure interior entrances where controlled pedestrian flow, architectural appearance and flexible access-control integration are important. Its slim pedestal design and clear glass barriers provide a modern appearance while maintaining an open view through the entrance.

The Smart Display is designed for high-traffic environments and can process up to 60 people per minute, depending on access-control configuration and pedestrian behavior. It provides a 26-inch standard passage or a 36-inch wide passage for accessible applications.

Optical Security Detection

A high-resolution infrared detection matrix monitors the passage area and can detect tailgating with individuals separated by approximately 1/4 inch (5 mm). The system can distinguish between human body mass and smaller objects to help improve detection accuracy.

An automatic local alarm can alert personnel when unauthorized entry is detected. An optional locking brake provides additional resistance against unauthorized movement of the glass barriers.

Glass Swing Barriers

The system uses 10 mm toughened safety glass swinging barriers. The barrier height is approximately 40",47.2", 59", or 67" inches, making this configuration appropriate for applications where anti-climbing is needed while still preserving a visual profile.

Standard Panels: Smart Display Access Optical Gate

The barriers incorporate a breakaway function, with the standard friction breakaway force specified at approximately 60 N. A locking-brake option provides a rated resistance of approximately 300 N.

Elevator Display and Reader Integration

A major advantage of this system is its ability to integrate elevator-style displays and multiple reader technologies into the entrance-control environment.

The system can interface with access-control equipment, visitor-management systems, CCTV and building-management systems. Entry, exit and visitor inputs are provided through voltage-free contacts, allowing the gate to work with a wide range of third-party security systems.

Remote Monitoring and Diagnostics

Ethernet connectivity provides remote control, diagnostics and alarm monitoring through a web-based interface. Authorized personnel can access system information using a PC, tablet or smartphone, depending on the installed configuration.

This capability can be particularly useful for facilities with centralized security management or multiple controlled entrances.

Safety and Emergency Operation

Safety beams monitor the barrier area and cause the glass panels to close slowly when an obstruction is detected. Fire-alarm integration provides an emergency egress input.

The system also provides entry and exit monitoring outputs and alarm outputs for integration with the building's security system.

Construction

The pedestal enclosure is constructed from 304 stainless steel with a satin horizontal-grain finish. The barriers are made from 10 mm toughened safety glass meeting EN 14179 and ANSI 97.1 requirements.

Installation, Drilling and Trenching

The pedestal requires a properly prepared, structurally sound floor. For new construction, electrical power and access-control/data conduit should be coordinated before the finished floor is installed and stubbed up at the planned equipment locations.

For retrofit projects, drilling and any required trenching should be coordinated with existing utilities, reinforcing steel and finished flooring before anchoring the equipment.

A floor-protection/baseplate option is available for installations where protection of the finished floor is required.
