Optical Speed Gate Pro - Clear Flap Panels

The Optical Speed Gate Pro - Clear Flap Panels is a slim, transparent access-control solution for secure interior entrances where pedestrian flow and architectural appearance matter. Its compact design suits corporate offices, government and financial facilities, retail environments, telecommunications sites, educational buildings, and similar controlled entrances.

Motorized glass flaps open in the authorized direction and can manage traffic in one or both directions. In Normally Closed mode, barriers open only after authorization. In Normally Open mode, the lane remains open until the system detects unauthorized entry or tailgating.

Security Detection and User Guidance 

Optical sensors monitor each lane for tailgating, piggybacking, intrusion, wrong-way travel, and timeout conditions. Unauthorized passage can trigger an integrated alarm.

LED pictograms show lane status: green arrows indicate authorized travel, red symbols indicate a closed or unauthorized lane, and flashing indicators communicate alarm, emergency, or technical conditions.

Standard lanes provide a 23.6-inch (600 mm) passage, while wide lanes provide 35.4 inches (900 mm) for wheelchair access and easier movement of larger items. Combination cabinets can create an adjacent standard and wide lane within the same array.

Cabinet Configurations and Finishes

Cabinets are available in 47.2-inch (1,200 mm), 55.1-inch (1,400 mm), and 73.6-inch (1,870 mm) lengths. Cabinet width is approximately 4.7 inches (120 mm), excluding clearance for the rotor column. End, center, and combination cabinets can be arranged to create multi-lane layouts.

The chassis, plinth, end-leg posts, and rotor column use stainless steel with a 10 mm glass inlay. Moving flaps are 10 mm tempered glass. Black technopolymer is the standard lid finish; additional architectural colors and applied finishes are available.

Safety and Emergency Operation

Safety photocells and force sensors prevent panel movement if it detects an abnormal condition. A lower safety-sensor kit is also available. A voltage-free fire-alarm input supports the required fail-state response. Manual push-opening, anti-panic push-opening, and emergency egress functions are included.

Access Control Integration

The gate can connect with external access-control and remote-control systems, including card readers. Its electronic platform provides digital I/O, RS232, and RS485 communications for integration into a larger security system.

Installation Requirements

Coordinate the layout, electrical service, and access-control connections before the finished floor is completed. Installation requires a flat, level finished floor within ±5 mm; the project team is responsible for confirming the structural suitability of the installation location.

Minimum foundation requirements are:

• 47-inch cabinet: 1,300 × 400 × 150 mm
• 55-inch cabinet: 1,500 × 400 × 150 mm
• 77-inch cabinet: 2,000 × 400 × 150 mm

Concrete must have a minimum Fck cube strength of 30 N/mm², with a minimum bolting depth of 70 mm. Plan conduits before flooring is installed: documentation specifies a route at least 140 mm below finished-floor level, rising at least 50 mm from the foundation.

For retrofit work, verify drilling and trenching locations for utilities, reinforcing steel, and other concealed conditions. Where needed, specify the approved baseplate or floor-saver solution for the selected cabinet configuration.

Baseplate and Floor Mounting

The installation should be designed around the actual cabinet configuration and approved installation details. Where a project requires a baseplate or alternate floor-mounting solution, the appropriate mounting arrangement should be specified during the planning stage.
