Revolving Turnstile, 2-Way Access – 3 Wing
Product Description
This motorized three-wing revolving security turnstile provides controlled pedestrian entry and exit for facilities requiring a high level of access security without sacrificing two-way traffic flow. The automated revolving design allows simultaneous bi-directional passage, so an authorized person can enter while another person exits through a separate turnstile sector.
Integrated single-person detection provides security beyond credential verification alone. The system monitors each turnstile sector for authorized passage and can detect tailgating and piggybacking attempts, preventing an unauthorized person from following or accompanying an authorized user through the entrance. Voice messages from the ceiling speaker will alert.
The round architectural enclosure and transparent security glazing make this revolving entrance suitable for corporate headquarters, data centers, airports, government facilities, museums, meeting centers, secured campuses and other controlled entrances where both security and architectural appearance are important.
Security Entrances Inc. can install and commission this equipment on location. Please inquire.

Simultaneous Two-Way Passage
Unlike conventional controlled entrances that alternate between entry and exit, the revolving design supports simultaneous bi-directional traffic. Separate turnstile sectors allow authorized users to enter and leave the secured area at the same time while the control system monitors passage through each sector.
The system automatically detects users entering or moving through the turnstile and manages the passage sequence. Traffic-light indicators, an intercom and multilingual voice messages can provide instructions and passage-status information to users.
If there is an alert message, the revolving door stops and all occupants will be informed to back up and re-enter.
Anti-Tailgating and Anti-Piggybacking
An integrated single-person passage checking system monitors occupancy within each turnstile sector. Volumetric sensors detect a person's presence and confirm whether the passage conditions have been satisfied.
The anti-tailgating system detects an unauthorized person attempting to follow an authorized user through the entrance. The anti-piggybacking system is designed to detect two people occupying the same turnstile partition, providing an additional security layer beyond credential-based authorization alone.
Access Control Ready
Access Control Ready: Compatible with access control systems where the appropriate control signal is presented by the control panel to authorize operation of the revolving turnstile.
The motorized entrance can integrate with badge readers, RFID and NFC credentials, fingerprint readers and other access-control equipment. Readers can be mounted externally or incorporated into a column depending on the entrance configuration. The system also provides an RS485 interface for access-control and presence-detection systems.
Security Construction and Glazing
The entrance uses a removable steel structure designed for assembly directly at the installation location. The transparent enclosure maintains visibility through the entrance, and is rated BR2 (bullet resistance).
Security glazing includes:
- Wing glazing: BR1/S ballistic resistance and P4B burglary resistance
- Side glass: BR2/S ballistic resistance and P6B burglary resistance
- Optional glass thickness: BR4/S
- Reinforced configuration: Additional FB4 ballistic-resistant steel panels available
Higher-security configurations are also available with RC4-certified construction, reinforced sides and electric locking depending on the selected security level.
Three-Wing Revolving Configuration
The standard 1800 mm diameter configuration provides a clear passage of approximately 29.5" (750 mm) wide × 82.3" (2090 mm) high. Overall dimensions are approximately 70.9" (1800 mm) diameter × 91.5" (2325 mm) high.
The three-wing configuration provides individual controlled sectors while maintaining a relatively compact circular footprint for a high-security revolving entrance.

Floorless Installation
A significant architectural advantage of this model is its floorless design. There is no raised integral portal floor or base platform; the removable structure is assembled and installed directly on the building's existing finished floor (excluding carpeting).
Installation requires coordination of the structural mounting surface, anchoring points, electrical power, access-control wiring and communications before the entrance is installed. Depending on the project and structural floor, mounting may require drilling and mechanical anchoring through the mounting locations into the supporting structure.
For new construction, electrical and low-voltage conduit can be coordinated below the finished floor before installation. Where concealed wiring is required in an existing building, floor trenching, core drilling or other approved concealed-conduit methods may be required. Surface conduit may also be possible depending on the project requirements.
Final anchor locations, drilling patterns, conduit routing and electrical stub-up locations should be coordinated from approved project shop drawings before drilling or trenching. This is particularly important because the entrance installs directly onto the existing floor rather than onto an integral raised base.
The above said, all of the electronics and power reside in the top canopy.
Indoor / Outdoor Applications
The revolving security entrance can be for indoor installations or protected exterior leading to the interior of a building. A UV-resistant rain cover is available, along with an optional reinforced upper cover for additional protection.
Exterior installations should be coordinated with the architectural opening, drainage, weather exposure, electrical requirements and project-specific environmental conditions.
Emergency and After-Hours Security
An automatic emergency unlocking system is provided for emergency operation. A mechanical lock can provide additional locking during nighttime or other periods when the entrance is not in normal operation.
An optional anti-drilling armored protector is also available for additional protection of the mechanical key cylinder.
Finish and Architectural Options
The revolving entrance can be configured with special colors to coordinate with surrounding architectural finishes. Additional options include reinforced security construction, higher-security glazing, credential readers, fingerprint acquisition and enhanced upper-cover protection.
