High-Security Portal with Metal Detection
Product Description
This round high-security portal (CO138) provides controlled, one-person passage through an automated interlocking-door entrance. Designed for facilities requiring a higher level of pedestrian security the portal combines motorized door control, single-person verification and access-control integration with integrated metal detection in 1 or 2 directions.
The large free passageway provides a wheelchair entrance while maintaining controlled passage. The portal can ship assembled, or unassembled (allows installation where transporting a completely assembled portal into the building would be difficult). Typical applications include banks, data centers, government facilities, embassies, corporate facilities and other controlled entrances.
Bullet-resistant BR2 Glass can be colored for privacy.
The double-door feature opens and closes faster than a single door.

Metal Detection
CEIA Metal Detectors are among the most used devices in the world for professional metal detection. The PN8 HIPE device is the most often used detector on Security Cabins and Portals with interlocking doors systems.
CEIA has designed the LARGE model to increase the power of PN8 HIPE classic model. It is the specific solution to for use with security portals with wide free passageway as with the CO138.

Interlocking Door Operation
The portal uses an interlocking door system. The secured door does not release until the access conditions have been satisfied. The system automatically detects a person within the portal and includes voice instructions from the speaker in the ceiling.
A built-in single-person checking system helps detect unauthorized piggybacking or multiple-person passage. The floor incorporates a weighing-cell system that can also be used for abandoned-object detection, adding another layer of security.
Access Control Ready
Access Control Ready: Compatible with access control systems where the required low voltage signal (dry contact or electric relay) is presented to the control system to authorize passage.
The portal can be integrated with RFID badge and proximity readers, RFID/NFC credentials, fingerprint readers, facial recognition, other biometric scanners or a simple push button. Access-control authorization works with the portal's interlocking sequence, so the second door is released only after the required security conditions have been satisfied.
Optional equipment can include a integrated metal detector, face-detection system, biometric acquisition system, cameras and web-based control interface, allowing the entrance to be configured around the security requirements of the facility.
Security Glazing and Construction
The portal uses a substantial architectural enclosure with 20/21mm thick laminated security glazing. Published glazing performance for this configuration includes BR2 ballistic resistance to EN 1063 and P6B burglary resistance to EN 356.
Stainless-steel covering is available or powder coated color (RAL) can be specified to provide an additional architectural finish where appearance is an important part of the entrance design.
Dimensions
The portal provides an overall diameter of approximately 59.1" (1500 mm) and an overall height of approximately 94.5" (2400 mm).
The clear pedestrian passage is approximately 35.4" wide (900 mm) × 78.7" high (2000 mm). The floor assembly is approximately 1" (25 mm) thick.
Safety and Emergency Operation
The motorized doors incorporate controlled movement and position monitoring. Available emergency-management functions can be integrated with the entrance controls, and the system can provide visual and synthesized voice guidance during passage.
Emergency buttons, intercom functionality, person-presence detection and emergency-exit management can be incorporated according to the required portal configuration.

Installation
The portal should be coordinated early in the architectural and electrical design because installation requires both structural anchoring, a strong floor, and electrical/access-control connections.
The electrical power, access-control wiring, intercom wiring, fire-alarm interfaces or other low-voltage connections approach the portal from the top canopy.
The approximately 1" portal floor can be installed above the finished floor, or the floor assembly can be coordinated with a recessed installation where project conditions allow. Final anchor locations, floor recesses, conduit locations and electrical requirements should be determined from the approved project drawings.
