Fixed Bollards - Crash Rated - Hi Security
Product Description
The Crash-Rated Hi Security Fixed Bollards are designed to provide permanent protection against unauthorized vehicle access and intentional vehicle attacks. These heavy-duty security bollards are ideal for protecting the entrances, perimeters, and vulnerable access points of high-security facilities.
Designed for applications requiring substantial vehicle mitigation, fixed bollards provide a permanent physical barrier without the need for motors, hydraulics, electrical controls, or operating systems.
They are particularly well suited for:
- Embassies and consulates
- Government buildings
- Military and defense facilities
- Airports and transportation facilities
- Banks and financial institutions
- Critical infrastructure
- Ports and marine facilities
- Correctional facilities
- Data centers
- Utilities and energy facilities
- High-security commercial properties
- Corporate headquarters
- Restricted vehicle access areas
Crash-Rated Vehicle Protection
These Fixed Bollards have been tested in accordance with ASTM F 2656-07 for a double-bollard installation.
The tested configuration is designed to stop a:
6,800 kg (15,000 lb) vehicle traveling at 50 km/h (30 mph).
This level of performance makes crash-rated fixed bollards an effective component of a comprehensive Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) strategy.
Crash performance applies to the tested configuration and installation. Project-specific requirements, spacing, foundation construction, and installation procedures should be evaluated by qualified security and engineering professionals.
Heavy-Duty Steel Construction
The bollard cylinder is manufactured from S355JR structural steel with a substantial 16 mm wall thickness.
The approximately 355 mm (14 in) diameter cylinder provides a highly visible and physically substantial barrier while maintaining a clean architectural appearance.
The standard finish incorporates corrosion protection and a durable polyester powder coating. A reflective band provides improved visibility during nighttime and low-light conditions.
Shallow-Mount Fixed Bollard Design
A key advantage of this fixed security bollard system is its shallow-mount design.
The underground structure requires an excavation depth of approximately 350 mm, which can provide an important installation advantage at sites where deep excavation is difficult because of existing utilities, underground infrastructure, structural limitations, or site conditions.
This shallow-foundation approach makes these fixed bollards particularly attractive for retrofit security projects as well as new construction.
Permanent Perimeter Security
Unlike retractable or automatic bollards, fixed bollards provide continuous physical protection.
Because there is no operating mechanism, motor, hydraulic power unit, or control system required for normal operation, the bollard remains in its protective position at all times.
This makes fixed bollards particularly appropriate for:
- Perimeter protection
- Building entrances
- Pedestrian plazas
- Vehicle-free zones
- Loading areas
- Sensitive access points
- Security checkpoints
- Embassy and government perimeters
Fixed bollards can also be incorporated into larger vehicle mitigation designs where a combination of fixed and retractable security bollards is required.
Embassy and Government Security
For embassies, consulates, government facilities, and other sensitive locations, crash-rated fixed bollards provide an effective method of creating a hardened perimeter while maintaining an organized architectural appearance.
Strategically positioned bollards can protect:
- Building entrances
- Public-facing areas
- Vehicle approach lanes
- Pedestrian gathering areas
- Parking entrances
- Security setbacks
- Critical infrastructure
When integrated with gates, barriers, fencing, surveillance, access control, and other security measures, fixed bollards form an important part of a layered perimeter security strategy.
