Corner Posts, End Posts, or Center Posts
Product Description
These modular railing posts are available as corner, end and center configurations for building custom pedestrian and shopping-cart traffic-control layouts. Factory-installed railing outlets allow the posts to connect directly with horizontal railing, making it easy to create straight runs, corners, intersections and other configurations around gates and turnstiles.
Posts can be used for retail entrances, checkout areas, shopping-cart corrals, queue lines and controlled pedestrian pathways. The modular design allows individual post configurations to be combined to match the required floor plan.
End, Center and Corner Configurations
End Posts terminate a railing run and are used at the beginning or end of a barrier.
Center Posts connect railing on opposite sides of the post, allowing a straight railing run to continue through the post.
Corner Posts change the direction of the railing system. Available configurations include 90° corners, 135° angled corners and T-corner posts, allowing the railing to follow walls, turn corners or branch into multiple sections.
Factory-installed outlets are available for double- and triple-rail configurations, depending on post height and style. Separate outlets can also be field installed when a project requires a specialized configuration.
Post and Railing Options
Standard fixed-anchor posts use 2.25" diameter tubing with a 5.5" diameter base. Double-rail posts are available in 35" and 44" heights, while 44" posts are available for triple railing. A 48" post configuration is also available for applications requiring shopping-cart passage.
Available finishes vary by post configuration and include bright chrome, satin or mirror stainless steel, and custom powder-coated finishes. Horizontal railing uses a 1.75" outside diameter and connects to the post outlets with set screws.
Installation
Posts are designed for installation on a firm, level structural floor. Standard fixed posts use four expansion anchors, while alternative anchoring systems are available for applications requiring additional support, a smaller base or removable posts.
The complete railing layout should be established before drilling so the correct combination of end, center and corner posts can be positioned accurately. Railing can be ordered in multiple standard lengths and cut to size in the field when required.
When terminating a post-and-rail system near a wall, I would also maintain the preferred 2" air space we've established for your Security Entrances installation guidance whenever the project layout permits.
