Product Description
The Thin Swing Glass Speed Gate is an automatic pedestrian access-control system designed for entrances where security, controlled pedestrian flow and efficient use of floor space are important. Motorized swinging glass barriers provide a physical access-control point while integrated infrared sensors monitor movement through the passage
With a 1,000 mm cabinet length, the system provides a condensed footprint for installations where a full-size speed gate may require more space. The design is suited to corporate offices, commercial buildings, government facilities, universities, financial institutions and other indoor controlled-access environments.
Condensed Architectural Design
The cabinet is approximately 1,000 mm (39.37") long, with a choice of rounded or square cabinet fronts. The SG configuration uses the rounded front, while the SR configuration uses the square front.
The cabinet features brushed stainless-steel covers and a black glass top, creating a clean architectural appearance suitable for modern entrance areas.
Swinging Glass Barriers
The Thin Swing Glass Speed Gate is available with one or two swinging glass wings. The barrier panels are constructed from 10 mm tempered glass and provide a visible physical separation between secured and unsecured areas.
The standard barrier height is 835 mm (approximately 32.9").
Standard and Wide Passage Option
The standard configuration provides a pedestrian passage suitable for everyday foot traffic, while an optional wide passage lane can be specified where additional clearance is required.
A wider lane can be particularly useful for accessible passage, wheelchairs, carts, luggage or other situations requiring additional space.
Optical Security Detection
The Thin Swing Glass Speed Gate incorporates 24 pairs of infrared sensors to monitor movement through the passage. Adjustable safety and security levels allow the detection system to be configured according to the requirements of the installation.
Tailgating and crossover detection help identify unauthorized attempts to pass through the secured lane.
One-Way or Bi-Directional Access
The system can be configured for one-way or two-way operation, allowing the same lane to control entry and exit when required.
This flexibility makes it suitable for both single-direction entrance applications and facilities where pedestrian movement must be controlled in both directions.
Access Control Integration
The Thin Swing Glass Speed Gate is designed to integrate with third-party access-control equipment. An optional flush-mounted RFID reader bracket provides a clean method of incorporating credential readers into the equipment.
A barcode scanner integration is also available for applications using tickets, visitor credentials or other machine-readable codes.
User Guidance and Lighting
Optional access lights, lane lights and wing lights provide visual information to pedestrians approaching and passing through the gate.
Lighting can be used to indicate lane status and guide users through the authorization process while complementing the architectural design of the entrance.
Emergency Operation
The Thin Swing Glass Speed Gate incorporates fail-safe operation and is designed to open automatically in the exit direction during an emergency condition.
An optional SuperCap emergency power backup is available for installations requiring additional emergency operating capability.
Multi-Lane Configurations
Multiple gates can be installed together to create a coordinated pedestrian access-control entrance. The system supports straight, arc, staggered and diagonal layouts, providing flexibility when working with different lobby configurations.
These layout options can be especially useful for architectural entrances where the available floor plan does not permit a simple straight-line arrangement.
Architectural Finish Options
The standard cabinet incorporates brushed stainless steel covers and a black glass top, with tempered-glass barrier panels.
Alternative surface finishes and top finishes are available for projects requiring additional architectural coordination.
Installation, Drilling, Trenching and Baseplates
Installation should be coordinated with the architectural, electrical and access-control drawings before construction begins.
For new construction, power, access-control wiring and data conduits should be routed to the equipment locations and stubbed up before the finished floor is completed. Reader brackets, barcode equipment and optional lighting should also be considered during the electrical and low-voltage layout.
For retrofit installations, the finished floor should be evaluated before drilling. Any required drilling or trenching should be coordinated with existing electrical services, plumbing, reinforcing steel and other concealed utilities.
Where appropriate, baseplates or floor-protection mounting solutions can be considered for the installation. The exact anchoring method and conduit requirements should be confirmed from the installation drawings for the selected configuration.
