2-Way Gate, Mechanical with Kick Plate

This mechanical 2-way pedestrian gate provides a 36" clear passageway for customers, shopping carts and accessible pedestrian traffic. The gate can swing in both directions for two-way passage or be field configured for one-way operation, making it a flexible solution for retail stores and other public-access facilities.

A gravity-assisted mechanism automatically returns the gate to the closed position after passage. The gate opens with minimal force and operates without electrical power, access-control wiring or powered operators.

Double-Sided Kick Plate

A solid steel kick/strike plate is installed on both sides of the gate. Noise-dampening impact strips reduce metal-to-metal contact while providing an impact surface for shopping carts and a kick plate for wheelchair passage. The current architectural specification identifies the double-sided plate at approximately 33.5"W × 10.75"H.

The gate is constructed from welded steel with a bright chrome finish and includes an accessibility sign. It can be installed as a stand-alone gate or incorporated with compatible turnstiles, posts and railing to create a coordinated pedestrian and shopping-cart traffic-control system. Optional factory-installed rail outlets are available on the hinge post for connection to 1.75" OD railing.

Installation

The gate is designed for installation on level concrete. Final placement should be coordinated with adjacent turnstiles, posts, railing and required pedestrian clearances before drilling and anchoring. Because operation is entirely mechanical, electrical conduit and access-control wiring are not required.
