Single Motorized Gate – Enter, No Exit
Product Description
This single motorized pedestrian gate is designed for retail entrances where customers are permitted to enter through the gate but should not normally exit through the same opening. Automatic sensor activation provides hands-free entry, making the gate well suited for supermarkets, department stores, retail stores, airports and other high-traffic entrances, including locations where customers enter with shopping carts.
The standard configuration provides an approximately 36" passageway. Posts and railing establish controlled approach areas around the gate so nearby pedestrian traffic does not unnecessarily activate the gate or alarm system.
Automatic Entry with Wrong-Way Detection
When a pedestrian enters the designated approach area from the permitted direction, sensors activate the motorized gate and allow passage. The gate then returns to its normal position after the person has entered.
Sensors also monitor the opposite side of the gate. If someone approaches from the wrong direction, the system can sound an alarm instead of automatically opening, helping discourage customers from using the entrance as an unauthorized exit. An attendant can authorize reverse passage using an optional push-button control when necessary.
If the gate is physically pushed in the reverse direction, a breakout audible alarm sounds for approximately five seconds, alerting store personnel to the activity.
Motorized Operation
The gate uses a heavy-duty 4" diameter post constructed from 1/8" wall DOM tubing. Gate-arm movement is motor controlled at 10 RPM, and custom arm lengths can be fabricated when required for a particular entrance layout. A white ABS sign panel is included, with custom signage available as an option.
Available finishes include bright chrome and stainless steel. Optional controls include attendant push-button override, computer interface and fire-alarm integration. In the event of a power loss, the gate can be moved manually.
Installation
The gate, posts and railing should be installed on a firm, level structural floor. Floor mounting flanges are anchored securely, with covers concealing the anchor bolts for a finished appearance.
Lay out the gate, approximately 36" passageway, sensor detection areas and surrounding railing before drilling. Electrical power, sensor wiring, optional attendant controls and any fire-alarm interface should also be coordinated before installation.
